Rajini’s gift to Sneha and Prasanna

Newlyweds, Sneha and Prasanna were delighted when Rajini dropped in for a visit shortly after their nuptials. The superstar wished their marriage every success and proceeded to gift them with a framed photograph of Swami Raghavendra .
The couple was touched with Rajini’s thoughtful gesture and his heartfelt wishes. About the meeting, Prasanna said “An amazing gift for a new beginning from THE SUPERSTAR! Most memorable moment”.

Jeyam Ravi to Do a La Rajini?

Finally, Jeyam Ravi has completed Aadhi Bhagawan, which has been directed by Ameer, and is looking forward to move on to his next. The star will start concentrating in Boologam, a film to be directed by newbie Kalyan. This film is expected to start rolling later his month. Apart from Boologam, he also has an interesting project lined up.

Yes, Jeyam Ravi will be teaming up with Samuthirakani for a film that has not been titled yet. Sources in the tinsel town say that he will essay dual roles in the film and one would be similar to the one done by Superstar Rajinikanth in Nettri Kann.

Wish this young star pulls off the role with same finesse just as Rajini had in Nettri Kann.

Rajini's Secret Hong Kong Trip

Rajinikanth has flown down to Hong Kong for the third schedule of Kochadaiyaan. Director Soundarya had completed two schedules – one in London and the other in Kerala – so far. Now, the third schedule has commenced in Hong Kong.

Sources close to the Kochadaiyaan team say that this schedule has been kept a secret and Rajini’s departure was not known to many in order to avoid unnecessary commotion at the air port.

Last time, when Rajini had left for London, his fans thronged the international air port in Chennai to catch a glimpse of the Superstar.

Kochadaiyaan’s leading lady Deepika Padukone will also be joining the unit this time around and the team will return after completing the shoots in one week’s time, say sources.

Rajinikanth Flys Hong Kong

Rajinikanth left for Hong Kong early this morning from Bangalore. Soundarya Ashwin, the director of the film was there earlier in March to study all she could about Motion Capture Technology which is to be employed for Kochadaiyaan. Hence the team will be heading there for the next leg of the shoot.

A major portion of the film has already been completed in London and Kerala. The team is excited about the way the film has shaped up so far and are eager to shoot the rest of it.

Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone Perform Classical Dance

‘Kochadaiyaan’ is the film featuring Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Jackie Shroff, Rukmini, Sarath Kumar, Aadhi and several others. The shooting of this film is currently on in Kerala.

Superstar Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone have performed classical dance for a song in this film. It is to be mentioned that, Deepika Padukone is an exponent in Bharathanatyam and Kathak dance forms.

Deepika first did a classical performance in her debut film ‘Om Shanti Om’ for the song ‘Dhoom Tana...’, over five years ago. That was for a few shots alone. But, Deepika is performing a full-fledged classical song in ‘Kochadaiyaan’.

The choreography for this song is done by Choreographer Saroj Khan, for the song composed by A.R.Rahman. The artists and dancers were rehearsing for 3 three days. Later, this song was filmed in 2 days time.

Choreographer Saroj Khan said, “I am working in a Tamil film after a very long gap. Though, there was such a huge gap, I am happy that, I am working in a Rajinikanth film now”.

The man who is known for his controversial statements, Ram Gopal Verma, is at it again! IndiaGlitz caught up with the director for an interview as he's busy with the promos of his forthcoming 'Department'.

When quizzed of why he's directed Amitabh Bachchan in five films and Mohan Lal in 'Company' and not yet approached Superstar Rajinikanth, pat came his response:

"The reason I haven't directed the iconic superstar, Rajinikanth, is because you need a complete different sensitivity if you have to make a film with Rajinikanth and I do not see myself making a film with him. I'd not hesitate to state that you cannot call Rajinikanth an actor but a special effect".

On Big B he says, "I grew up watching Amit Ji's (Amitabh Bachchan) films, Big B is cinema. I'm glad he's been a part of five of my films. In Department his character has shades of grey; he plays Sarje Rao, a gangster who becomes a dreaded politician".

The director will be helming a project shortly on the 26 / 11 Mumbai attacks and Kasab's actions that affected the normalcy of the country.

Rajini for a cause

In the presence of Superstar Rajinikanth, the Indian Chapter of Cystinosis was launched in Chennai on Wednesday (May 2).

Cystinosis is a genetic disorder which largely remains undetected. It is a rare condition in which the body accumulates excess amino acid cystine leading to formation of crystals that can damage cells.

Clad in a white shirt and jeans, Rajini posed for photographs with the children affected with Cystinosis, all aged below 10 years. The young ones are from various parts of Tamil Nadu.

The Chapter is planning a lot of activities to help the children to overcome the disorder. Office-bearers of the chapter thanked Rajini and said his presence in the event would go a long way in spreading awareness on Cystinosis.

Remember the Superstar appeared in an advertisement urging parents to give polio drops to children without fail, almost two decades ago. It created great awareness all over Tamil Nadu and the disorder is almost eradicated now.
